Matthew Weaver is an author, artist, child of the moon, and scientist who lives with his wife and son in the Pacific Northwest. Between his work as a formulations chemist and his duties as the managing member of Luna Risen LLC, he rarely has a chance to relax and enjoy the works of his favorite authors, Ray Bradbury, David Eddings, Raymond E. Feist, and Anne Rice.
During graduate school, Matthew decided to write the first of the novels that had been whispering to him since childhood—but discovered that the middle of a Ph.D. program was NOT the right time! Writing the story would have to wait for a few more years, but it was finally published in 2012.
The Lightness of Dust is his first published work of fiction. His other publications, which report his scientific findings in the field of pathological biomineralization, can be found in peer-reviewed journals including Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
The Lightness of Dust is available in paperback and Kindle editions at Amazon.com, Smashwords, and Kobo.
An excerpt of Chapter Five: The Dark Keeps its Own Company, is posted on his website, as is a free pdf download of the first 25 pages of the book.
Thank you for the opportunity to share my work, Jo!
