Synopsis:
I wanted to see if I could write a Christmas story. I don’t know where this one came from, but it reminded me of all the shopping around for guitars I’d done over the years and in Christmases past. These shops have always been there, and we go in because of the whiff of danger and excitement we feel as we push through the front door. What will we find today?
The song Shop Around is a different matter – it was a hit for Smokey Robinson and The Miracles in 1960. It’s R’n’B, not Jazz. But, then again, everything’s Jazz if you listen hard enough.
